Do not know. I have had my ironat least 6-7 years with no problems.

Yes. You can just iron without pulling the steam trigger that is built into the handle of the iron (but it is a bit tricky). There is also a dial on the iron (as you would see on a traditional iron) that determines the heat level of the sole plate; if you set it on “low,” it will not produce steam.

This iron is a steam generator iron with a separate water tank. The 1700 does not have a separate water tank or base.

Does this iron have a normal US plug for 110 service?

Yes, I have not used much but it is very good. I do a lot of ironing normally and had different brands before and this one is best one yet.
