Primos Hunting Deer Call, Trophy Grunter, 6-in-1

First day in the field with this grunter and had a buck SPRINT at me. Im not call a expert, but this thing simply works. Small enough to pack in a chest pack and can be extended for longer, deeper calls if necessary. It does have a setting for estrus bleats on the reed, but its nowhere close as effective as the primos "the can". Pair the two and you'll only have your poor shot to blame for not bringing home deer!

Grunting is an art and if you can do it this thing will do it. It’s easy to fit in a pocket and sound good if you can grunt

Does a good job making six different calls. However the function mode is merely sliding a rubber “O” ring up and down a paper thin plastic reed. Up high for a bleat, down low for a grunt. On the first try, I slid the ring down and put a kink in the reed. Now I can’t use the lowest setting because air escapes the sides and it sounds like a sick moose. The other 5 settings are fine, just be careful and hold the reed down while adjusting and you’ll be fine.

It works surprisingly.. I've used their deer antler rattles and have rattled in some decent bucks. They don't bring in bucks every time but it does break up the boredom. I thought I'd give this a try. Of course I'm no expert on either one. I watched some videos on grunting and rattling which helped and practiced before heading to the woods.. You have to use them at the right place and right time. I grunted one morning a couple times and a spike came right to me within 20 yards. I let him walk and as he got about 40 yards away I grunted again and he stopped and looked back but didn't see anything and kept walking. I grunted another buck on another day but let him walk also. I think if I would have been using my buck decoy with the rattles and grunt call things would have been different. This works better than any scent stuff I've used. The call is adjustable for different sounds. I kept it on MB (mature buck) but it can be set for a doe bleet, a TB trophy buck and a few others.

I started blowing this call, and somehow managed to get a mid-sized 8 point to file my taxes for me. Not sure if this is the right grunt call. Will update the review next year depending on if I get audited by the IRS

Seems like the tones are ok. Pretty new to deer hunting, so I'm definitely not an expert. The major flaw with this is how the call is adjusted. The piece that holds the reed drops out very easily when the tube is removed. 2 of the parts are very tiny and black. If you lose either of those you are out $13. If you buy it, don't adjust it in your blind or tree stand. It might be a sad hunting trip.

This is a replacement for the multiple deer calls that I have aggressively blown too hard in and ruined!! Sorry not sorry- when you are 20’up in a stand and all you aren’t seeing anything but squirrels—you get desperate!! This call works great and fits nicely around your neck. Now it doesn’t guarantee that you will bag a trophy but it sure doesn’t hurt!! Happy hunting!
