desertcart.com: Hello in There!: A Big Sister's Book of Waiting (Growing Hearts): 9781419703713: Witek, Jo, Roussey, Christine: Books Review: Wonderful book! - This is a wonderful book. Bought it for my 2 year old granddaughter who will be a big sister shortly; it works for her but she is definitely on the young side for this book. She loves to open the flaps and see the baby in mama's belly. The belly and the baby grow bigger on each page, while the child in the book does things that my granddaughter can do for her own baby sister while waiting, like sing to her. There is a page where the child is waiting and the mama is gone, and the next page parents come home with the baby. Everything is happy and sweet. At 2 my granddaughter is having a little difficulty understanding what is going to happen...this book is a great tool to help her. I was a child therapist for over 30 years, taught preschool, and raised 5 children (including preparing them for the birth of their siblings). I have never seen a better book for this purpose and highly recommend it. The only possible criticism is that the flaps are a little flimsy (at least for a 2 year old...not like the toddler lift-the-flap books). Which means it is best to read it with the child instead of giving her free access to the book. But this book is best read with an adult anyway, so that is such a minor problem that it hardly matters. Art is simple and child friendly. Book is easy to read. We love it. Review: Sweetest big sister announcement - The sweetest book! Perfect for surprising a big sister with baby announcement! I bought this book to announce our pregnancy to our 4 year old. It walks through the excitement and curiosity of a baby in mommy’s tummy with a Big Sister announcement at the end. My 4 year old was engaged and followed along with the story.

Sweet way to prepare your daughter to be a big sister
I purchased this book to tell my 22m old daughter that she is going to be a big sister. She does best when she has time to prepare so I wanted her to understand the pregnancy too. The reviews mention that the flaps are weak, very true. I riped 2 trying to strengthen them with package tape. Also people mentioned that the shadow was a bit scary so I added my own personal touches. A bit of fine point sharpie worked great for adding a bit more color to the book. This is a cute story and I love the flaps to help understand what is going on. My daughter might be a bit young but I think this story also allows you to talk about the pictures and what the two can do once the baby is born. I also like that the baby is gender neutral since I don't know what we are having yet. Happy annoncing to your first born!

A great find for a big sister-to-be!
My 4.5yo loves this book! It's great that it is interactive, which keeps her engaged. The illuatrations are simple, but interesting. The images help to open up discussions about how the baby gets bigger as mommy's belly gets bigger, things she can do while the baby is still in there and things they will do together once the baby comea. My favorite page is when the big belly diasappears; it has helped us to explain that mommy and daddy will have to go to the hospital to see the doctor and have the baby, but on the next page we're back and you get to meet your sibling! We read it multiple times a day, she brings it to me over and over again to read. We have a ton of big sister/new baby books and this is by far her favorite.

This hardback book is very well made
This book was better than I expected. Illustrations are adorable. The story is perfect. The peekaboo‘s are a sweet surprise. I bought this for my 2 1/2 year-old granddaughter who is expecting a baby sister soon and she is engaged in the story. Don’t hesitate to buy if this is the topic you’re looking for.

Bought this for my best friends little girl when she was expecting a little brother and it helped her to grow into her role as a caring and kind big sister. Love this book!

The book is cute, however we decided to bring it back because at the beginning of the story it has a strange phrase and an even stranger illustration; in the context of the sister talking to the baby in the belly, she says something similar to: don’t be afraid of the shades, my light will shine on them (something like that) and the illustration shows her with huge monster made out of shades coming out of her and smiling and throwing kisses at the baby. We thought it was kind of odd and as Christians we felt more comfortable not keeping that book (thankfully our daughter didn’t see it at all). We know how deep certain things can go in a child’s mind so we decided to stay safe and we got other books that are way more normal and still beautiful and helpful in preparing our girl to welcome her sibling.

A mi hijo le encanta abrir las "ventanitas" para descubrir cómo va creciendo el bebé en la barriga de mamá y nos está ayudando a explicarle la llegada de su hermanita. El envío fue muy rápido.

Low quality of printing, the same page repeated twice, pages misaligned

Bought this for my daughter as she will be big sister in few months. The storyline is easy to understand and she enjoys the flaps and the progression of tummy size
