The Littles

What a cute little story about family and triumphing over obstacles with a positive attitude (except for Uncle Pete). I was prereading it for my children and am satisfied that it is a great read for any classroom or family. Nothing inappropriate or distasteful found. I have read several children’s chapter books today in order to compile a quality selection for my family and this one was one of the most charming. I am definitely seeing a difference, with a negative trend, between today’s novels character and the literature written between 1950-2000ish. It’s not just content, but a type of magical essence that seems to be lacking in many of the more modern novels. Even when I’m entertained, it’s not the same type of allure to the voice of the story.

Such a cute little (lol) story. I read this to my son and he couldn’t get enough. This was our first read aloud chapter book and it was a hit. At first he didn’t like that there were not a lot of pictures, however, he adjusted and enjoyed the few pictures that were included. It really does make the transition to chapter books easier when there are pictures. I thought the illustrations were well done. The story was easy to follow and captivating for him. I remember reading this series as a kid and was happy to share that with him. This story sparked many conversations and imaginative playtimes about being 6 inches tall. It’s a great resource for creativity. I recommend this to anyone who is also doing read aloud OR to someone who is starting to get into reading chapter books themselves.

I bought this book for students that struggle with reading. I love that it is a chapter book that largely phonetic so the students can be successful reading it over the summer independently. I bought it for a finishing 3rd grader reading 6 months behind grade level.

This is one of my favorite books of all time. In my classroom every year, I read this book to my students and they are always captivated. The Littles are a strong unit who will do anything to protect their home and each other.

I loved stories about the Littles when I was little. My kids are also enjoying this first book in the series, but all of us are disappointed that the book we received is missing the last 2 pages. I've ordered a replacement. Hope it has all it's pages!

A classic story with updated illustrations.

This was a fun, imaginative, and engaging book. Perfect early chapter book for my 4 and 6 year old!

while I read all series when I was a little kid I sold my books long ago. Remembering how much I loved the books I had to get this for the youngest in my family as well as refresh my memory by re-reading it. I was quickly reminded of the differences between the book series and the DIC series that ABC aired back in the 1980s Saturday Mornings. If you like the cartoon series when you were a kid and have little ones of your own they'll be sure to enjoy the books that started it all.

My 5 yr old daughter seemed to like the story and actually asked me to order the next book however I found the book too American and had to substitute several words and phrases as I was reading in order for her to understand. The story was just okay.

Fast delivery, a great children’s book

Read every Littles book to my children and now purchasing one for the grandchildren to start their reading journey

My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed this book. We are looking forward to getting more Littles books to read.
