Update - Pretty darn good for art and stuff
Update 03/2025: This came with 2 protectors but I haven't replaced it once. It has some scratches and normal wear, but it's never enough to be a visual or physical distraction. It still works great and I can see everything like I should. I was expecting to buy more, but apparently not. I'll be looking to get this same screen protector if I ever need another. I purchased this because I didn’t want to spend hell money on a Paperlike, especially after hearing horror stories about it devouring the Apple Pencil 2 tip. I already have a iCarez protector on my 6s so I’m familiar with the application process and what not. It was easy to apply and I’m glad it was because I can keep the second one as a spare for when the first gets too scratched up. I use my iPad for art and digital journaling alongside the typical functions. I really enjoy the way this protector feels when using it with or without my Apple Pencil. It’s not hindersome and it actually feels the same as when I use my Ugee tablet with my computer. I’ve been drawing with graphics tablets for years so having that familiarity is immense. It also looks pretty good to me. You will notice the grain if you’re looking for it, but it’s not that disruptive IMO. The content still looks good to me. I watch Youtube a lot and occasionally watch TV and I have no issues. I do come from old ass TVs and 60 fps nowhere near Mega HD 4K resolution displays though so the iPad in general is a totally new viewing experience for me. If you’re used to super luxurious viewing experiences you may feel differently. Definitely recommend this to my fellow arteests.

Great for Drawing!
I just bought another matte screen protector with a bit of tooth to it and I couldn't get it off of my iPad quick enough. Installation was a terrible process, though I liked the quality of the protector. I then bought this one, seeing most of the negatives were for face recognition. It's something I don't use, so either way, it didn't matter to me. I bought them and I have to say I am overly impressed with the installation process and directions. It came with wet wipes, a nicely sized cleaning cloth, a somewhat flimsy (but useful) squeegee card, and...rubber bands/extra stickers? Being able to rubber band and add the extra stickers helped ensure that I got the protector perfectly attached to the screen and QUICK. I was able to get it on and attached without any dust at all. What a huge difference. As for use: it works quite well with touch and the Apple Pencil. The texture is great and helps not have the Pencil sliding all over the screen while drawing and painting. I do have some issues in Procreate, like the stream of a brush will be interrupted during one continuous line. It wasn't happening before, so I have to assume this is partially due to the screen protector. It isn't a deal-breaking issue, because the pros outweigh the cons. I will say, this protector is not for anyone looking to watch videos or do casual stuff. I'm a freelance illustrator, and this will definitely help my productivity to churn out sketches faster. It feels like drawing on paper without being too toothy and wearing down the nib. I can't recommend these enough, even if just for the quality install process. Face Recognition: I also wanted to mention, facial recognition works just fine. I don't use it, but the product is made with plenty of room (I believe this is the updated version) and it works perfectly, not covering the face cameras.

iCarez hit it out of the park with this one.
I love it! Super easy install even if screen protector installs give you sick anxiety like they do for me if you’re a bit obsessive and hate when they’re uneven / bubbled. Pros: *Two screen protectors included *Super easy install. You use the included rubber bands to secure the screen protector in place, then stickers around them to form a hinge. You remove the protective adhesive to stick it to the screen, then add another sticker to secure the protector, then remove another protective film covering the actual matte screen protector. *PERFECT idiot proof install with straight edges, and no bubbles. *Exact matte finish I was looking for. Feels so good on the fingers. *EXTREMELY fingerprint / oil resistant. This might be the best part of all. EVERYONE THAT SELLS SCREEN PROTECTORS SAYS FINGERPRINT RESISTANT. THEY LIE. THIS ACTUALLY IS. * Touch is very responsive. No errors yet.. *Face ID cutout is perfect Cons: *The wonderful HD clarity is gone. It’s still great, good enough, but for people that are all about screen clarity... This one isn’t for you. - The screen appears to be be wet, showing rainbow multi color grain distortion. It’s fine for me and likely unavoidable if you want a matte finish / thick paper feel to your screen. *Likely not enough protection against drops. I’m careful with my stuff and don’t expect to drop it, but if you do...This likely won’t be enough to save your screen. Thoroughly impressed for the price. If you want a matte finish, easy and reliable install, and good enough protection..This might be your match. I will be giving iCarez all my screen protector business going forward. Really impressed with everything about this product.

It’s perfect for unit-fingerprint, reflection, and the pen and the touch response are amazing. Very high quality. The installation is very easy “watch YouTube video”. The only thing is the resolution will be a little bit degraded. But it’s totally acceptable.

It took my quite some time to decide which matte/paper I should go with. In the end I have no regrets choosing this product. I paid around $13 and got 2 screen protectors, and an installation kit with enough products (stickers) to apply the second time. I am unsure why people are so disappointed when they realized that a matte screensaver reduces the sharpness of the screen, as do all that I have seen. It’s just a consequence of wanting to have an authentic writing experience with the pencil and for glare reduction. If you do not have an Apple Pencil then I would suggest a normal tempered screen protector in order to get the full clarity of your beautiful screen, but I have no regrets. Writing on it with the pencil is nice. It’s smoother than most paper products but I believe that will make my pen tips last longer, which is why I also decided upon this product. It’s only $13 and if I decide I don’t like this “matteness” any longer than I will simply purchase a clear protector. Not going to lie. It did take around 30 minutes for me to apply this screensaver. It took so long because I was so dedicated on making sure everything was perfect and that the edges lined up as well as having no lint or air bubbles underneath the protector. Overall the time I spent was well worth it as it is 100% perfect!

I do not write many reviews. But I got this delivered today. It took fairly long to get delivered. For someone like me who doesn’t have a great deal of experience installing screen protectors, I was surprised. It comes with such detailed instructions, hinge stickers (for accurate deployment), and peel stickers, together with clear instructions. My first attempt - remarkably perfect. Thanks to the complete installation kit, complete with alcohol wipes, micro-fibre cloth, surplus stickers, and clear instructions. Next, the quality is also really good. I was worried about the rainbow effect, or color noise that matte protectors generate. It’s here. But it’s not overwhelming. The overall feel is really pleasent, together with a slight friction for Apple Pencil. I am really glad I got this. I had developed hairline scratches on my iPad screen. One of these had become deep enough to create a stretch of rainbow effect along its path. It really saddened me. I am glad that all the hairline scratches, together with this deeper one have completed disappeared underneath the matte layer :). Overall, a great success! Thank you. Also - this screen protector is really a great deal. I think it’s not as great as Paperlike 2 (better than Paperlike probably). But this is what you get for much cheaper, with much better installation material, and a really good product. Would you like to get almost twice expensive Paperlike 2, while being unable to install it perfectly? I think not!

Fantastic screen protector for the Apple Pencil drawing and writing. It feels great sliding the Pencil across the screen, nearly like paper. It's smooth for use with my fingers as well. It's a lovely feeling that very smooth and doesn't get sticky like the glass does. The instructions were a little confusing at first, but the stickers act as guides to help arrange the screen protector to the precise position for a successful install. Getting the screen completely dust free is challenging but with a little patience and using the included dust removal stickers, I actually installed it without any dust or dirt! I was pleasantly surprised! The only downside is that some of Retina's charm wears off as the beautiful glossy display is covered up. But if you're using an Apple Pencil often or simply cannot stand the glare then this is certainly worth it.
