GOLDEN Silverpoint Drawing Ground, 8 fl. oz. Bottle, Professional Acrylic Ground, Opaque

Works well, settles nice and smooth. Creates a beautiful ground for silverpoint.I mixed it with pigment to give color to the background and it worked beautifully.

I use this on my sketchpad to apply three coats (completely drying them in between coats) two sketch things with the silver stylus my husband gifted me for my birthday earlier this year. It creates very nice texture surface for my silver pen to draw on! And does the oxidation overtime which makes the silver lines appear like area very thin lines of burnt sienna. Love it

This is great to have the ground for metal point drawing premixed! In years past I had to buy enamel and mix In my own powdered calcium carbonate. It was a mess! This is ready mixed just shake and go!

My go-to for metalpoint (silver,copper, etc) grounds. I usually apply 3-4 thin layers, letting each dry before applying the next. Takes metalpoint beautifully.

I love this product! It goes on the paper smoothly and dries quickly, and allows the silverpoint to glide on effortlessly.

I’m surprised, I tried this years ago and hated it because it felt too plasticy. Maybe I hadn’t adequately shaken it? A thin layer on a decent weight paper can get a good range of tones. I’ve been using house paint because it could take a lot of abuse and I could get the silver as dark as possible. This requires a lot less effort and it may work just as well. I need to make a complete drawing to really know for sure.

It makes it easy to draw with silverpoint, the only thing that would make it better if it was invisible. It leaves a white base, which looked blotchy the first day buy mellowed and evened by the next morning. Still very good.
