Plasticine Movie Maker Studio — No-Dry Modeling Material — Creative Kit — Ages 5+

My kids are ages 9 and 13. It’s getting more and more difficult to find toys and activities that they’ll engage with together for long periods of time. I got them each one of these kits for Christmas, and they’ve been playing with them, together, nonstop for hours now. Look, stop motion apps are free to download, and you could easily “DIY” this kit by using art supplies, toys around the house and play-doh, but the little sets, punch-outs and plasticine that came with this kit have provided tons of creative inspiration for my kids, and served as a quick springboard to get them engaged in the activity. They’ve already had hours of fun with this kit—well worth the price tag, IMO. This activity marries imagination with technology in a super fun way. Highly recommend this set for your budding filmmakers!

My 9 yr old got this as a gift and loves it. It's easy for her to use and assemble the scenery. The phone stand was helpful to keep a steady shot and love that the clay doesn't dry so that she can reuse it.

My 9 year old daughter had been asking to make a stop motion movie and I did not know where to start. I happened to see this set on Amazon and ordered it for her. I was amazed at how well her video came out! She was able to make her clay people and read the directions to figure out how to make the video. I would definitely recommend this set!

It was a gift

My daughter got this for her birthday and immediately made a hilarious video with her sister. We are now planning on making a Christmas movie. The only drawback is that there is no black or brown clay, which my girls continually wished they had.

I am not sure what I expected, but cardboard cut-outs and a little bit of modeling clay seems over presented in this package. While anything that stimulates a child's mind to create is a good thing, these props and sets could easily be created from materials that any parent is likely to have on hand. At least I can come up with pretty good pieces myself. With that said, the notion of creating clay-motion videos is a pretty cool one, and this set may be perfect for some situations. If that sounds like I am equivocating, I am. This is one of those items for kids that it is hard to pin down. I have not tried it with young visitors yet, so will update this review when I have seen kids actually use it!

THE TEAR OUT PIECES ARE NICE QUALITY AND SHOULD LAST FOR A LITTLE BIT I LOVE THAT THE CLAY IS REUSABLE AND WON'T DRY OUT THE KIDS GOT A FEW HOURS OUT OF THIS AND I'M SURE THEY CAN GET PLENTY MORE. HAPPY W THE PURCHASE

I bought this item for making clay animations but instead was greeted to some cardboard and nasty "clay". Don't waste your time and money on this, your better off just buying some Play-doe.
