Good, affordable action camera. Perfect for bikes.
I purchased this camera to use on my bicycle when I commute. I didn't want anything too fancy or expensive like most of the GoPros are, so I settled for this. I attached it to my bike helmet using one of the many attachments that it comes with, and it works well. The video quality is good. You can easily read license plates on cars passing by for instance, and the stabilization works well. The waterproof case is very helpful too. The app could be better. I just want to be able to quickly view or save my videos, but for some reason it isn't so simple. Regardless it's very easy to simply connect the camera up to a computer and copy the files across to where you want them. Battery capacity is okay. Seems to last for just over three hours per battery, so it's suitable a good number of trips before they need charging again. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

A great budget 4K action camera
UPDATE after 12 months ownership: A year after my original purchase and review, I've now bought 5 of these little gems to give me a variety of angles to shoot from simultaneously, and they all work equally well. Video quality seems to be optimal at 1080p 60FPS, but the 4K video is perfectly acceptable. Battery life is still excellent, all the cameras are still working perfectly and if something catastrophic happened to one of them I'd buy another one without hesitation. Unreservedly recommended! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've bought three of these and have had to return one because it was faulty. I start with this comment, to let you know if the sound and video quality aren't good, then you should return the camera, because when they are working correctly, this little action camera is very good indeed. The EK7000 Pro seems to have gone through a slight design update, as some have the awkward little panel on the bottom that you have to pick open with your fingernail to access the battery, much the same as the standard EK7000, while others have a much nicer sliding panel which you slide sideways until it springs open to reveal the battery and then remains attached to the camera body. Much better! In addition to that revision, the sliding panel EK7000 Pro cameras have a tripod thread on the underside, while others don't. It's not a big issue, as the kit comes with a tripod mount cage for the camera, but it's a nice addition to keep your set-up as small as possible. If you're on a really tight budget, the standard EK7000 is a great buy, but if you can stretch to the EK7000 Pro, you get a touchscreen, electronic image stabilisation, the ability to change the field of view in camera (okay it's by cropping, but it does mean you don't have to do it later). You can take 20MP pictures with the EK7000 Pro where you're limited to lower res still images with the EK7000. IMO, the touchscreen makes the Pro worth the extra money in itself. (You MAY also get the better battery cover and tripod socket, depending on which revision of the EK7000 Pro you get, but don't count on it.) Power-up is quick, the camera checks the memory card is okay prior to being ready for operation, and then it's ready for you to hit record to start recording. One downside for me is that this camera only records in .MOV video format. I prefer MP4 for convenience and compatibility, but it's not a deal-breaker. The camera itself has a soft-touch finish which means it doesn't easily slip out of your hand, and the accessories are all good quality and there's a big selection of them so you have a way to attach the Akaso EK7000 Pro to just about anything. One notable omission is that of a sucker-mount for glass and other smooth surfaces. Adhesive mounts are provided, but for using this camera in and on vehicle windows, you might want to get a decent sucker mount. Battery life is excellent. After 1 hour 12 min continuous recording, the battery life was still indicating 2 bars, which is way better than I expected. Talking of continuous recording, the largest file the Akaso EK7000 Pro will record to is a file of about 4GB, which works out at about 21 minutes' recording. After that it starts recording to a new file. It will record in shorter recording durations if you wish in "loop recording" mode. This allows you to record in 1, 3 or 5 minute video files, which will continue to be saved to the memory card until the card is full, at which point the video writing "loops" around and starts over-writing previously recorded video, starting from the oldest file onwards. It's much the same as a car dash camera. I can't fault the Akaso EK7000 Pro. I didn't have very high expectations of the camera, as I've had budget GoPro clones in the past, and some have been okay for limited use, others have given terrible video quality, though Akaso came highly recommended. Not only did the Akaso EK7000 Pro not disappoint, but it far exceeded my expectations and is an absolute bargain budget action camera. Clearly there are some quality control issues, as I had to return one faulty camera , but I immediately ordered another Akaso EK7000 Pro to replace it, such is my appreciation of the camera. If you're buying one to take some important footage, make sure you test the camera is working perfectly prior to the big event. Sound and video quality are more than acceptable at this price point (I also have a Panasonic GH5M2, so I know what great 4K video looks like) and battery life is exceptional. All in all, highly recommended at this price point!

Great little camera for the price
Had this camera for around 24 hours now and first impressions are that for the money it's a great bit of kit. Clamped it onto by motorbike this morning and apart from it freezing once (in 1.5 hours worth of riding) it came up with good quality videos. Not bothering with 4k as if other reviews online are to be believed it isn't true 4k but instead 2.7k with interpolation. 2.7k seems pretty smooth but 1080p60 at times appeared a little distorted at higher speeds with EIS turned on (I don't know whether the vibration of my bike at higher speeds was too much for the EIS) and have yet to try without EIS when clamped to the handlebars. Over all thought apart from the higher speed riding the footage was smooth and detailed even in lower light (albeit with a bit of noise in the dark conditions). Slightly dissapointed to see that EIS only works in 1080p mode or lower. It would have been nice if akaso detailed this on their Web page descriptions. The 4gb file limit is pretty much standard for video camera recordings in my experience so not a huge issue. Sound wise not amazing but I think this might be as much down to video codecs on my computer distorting it as all seemed on on camera or on the app. Accessories wise it's a pretty impressive set of adapters cases etc included in the box. If you have a bicycle or motorcycle with oversized bars (as I do) a lot of it of zip tie work might be in order to get the bike mount working though but again no biggie I guess. All in all unless you're planning on being a pro vidoegrapher and can't afford to stump up for some of the more premium action cameras on the market this is well up to the job of capturing you next adventure. Now I'm. Looking forward to the weekend and actually being able to test it in propper daylight!

Great value camera
Easy to set up and use, lots of accessories supplied, mainly purchased to film while scuba diving and snorkelling, which it did very well - tested to between 5-7metres Great picture quality, after testing the options I found the 1080p setting more useful than 4k Battery life very good, I got almost an hour recording and playback out of each The app to transfer videos to your phone works well, but transfer speed a bit slow and really uses the battery. Camera case really was waterproof, but one point to note is not to hold the buttons down under water, quick presses were fine - it let a very small amount of water in after I held the button down for a while by mistake on the first day, luckily not enough to cause damage I bought an additional handle to attach to hold under water as lots of accessories included but none to let you โholdโ the camera. Well worth it for the price

Perfect For Timelapse
I bought the AKASO EK7000 Pro 4K Action Camera last year in 2021 purely for sky timelapse video to promote on my social media channel. I have to say I'm very impressed with the durability of this camera as it has been running constantly for 24h straight (Day + Night) for nearly a whole year now. I did had to buy another camera because I accidentally left it in the rain and it became unresponsive, so I bought another one and then I made the decision to modified the waterproof casing to allow the main cable access the camera, from then on I have had no problem's so far. It has survived over 30 degree heat and -5 temperatures, hail stones and torrential rain (IN WATERPROOF CASE) and it's recording as I write this review. * Video quilty is great in 4K especially when the sun is shining and the Night photo timelapse with the exposure on high is slightly grainy however still good quality for 20MP. * Size of the camera including the case is a perfect size to fit in any pockets and it's very light weight plus the camera 'Does Not Over Heat'. For a budget camera it's definitely worth buying!

It is NOT as big as it looks in the ad !
I saw this camera when I was looking for a slightly bigger โ action cam โ . It looked bigger so I bought it. My eyesight is not great and on my present action cam I find it hard to read the screen outside . So , this one arrives and at first I was disappointed due to its screen size . However after setting it up I find it a lot easier to use due to the touch screen and remote control. I The remote is not water proof but splash resistant so I have adapted a waterproof phone case for that . Comes with a host of attachments that appear to fit my other kit .Connection to WiFi was a bit hit and miss but itโs not a deal breaker for me .On the whole a good bit of kit .
