First, be sure to read the size measurements in the Amazon Q & A section - it is NOT the size listed in the item description ("4.8x 13 x4.8 inches") - One of the answers lists that "the outer shell is 12 7/8" x 9 5/8" x 4 3/4" (not including the external protrusions and the handle). The foam insert is 11 3/4" x 8 1/2"." This is a glaring problem with the description, though has no bearing on the quality of the product itself... just hoping to save you from ordering if it's not the size you might need!As for the product itself, 3 Stars (aka "It's OK" as opposed to "Like it" or "Love it" (4 or 5 stars). I have owned Pelican and Hardigg Storm cases (prior to Hardigg being acquired by Pelican), and those products would rank 4 - 5 stars - the Barska HD-200 feels less sturdy compared to the Pelican alternative. Pelican latches can be tough to open as a by-product of the tight fit and finish of their cases (not to be confused with the challenge of opening a case that doesn't have a purge valve), the Barska HD-200 is easier to open, which would be nice, but makes me second-guess its water resistance. I'm sending it back, so I won't have the luxury of long-term use to elaborate further on its quality.Will fit an iPad, won't fit a small laptop; not sure what rifle would fit in it or why its advertised as a Hard Rifle Case. I would have kept it if it were sized for something I could envision using it for, but the size is just not "right" for my needs.It's a nice case for the size and price, but don't expect it to be on par overall with the more costly competition.

Extremely high-quality case. I'm using it for my Beretta pistol. The pick & pluck foam is easy to work with. The foam is a higher density, which holds the gun and accessories in place well. ONE NOTE: When you pluck your foam, BE CAREFUL TO DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. I had tested various placements of the pistol and accessories to get it just right, and in the process wished I had done the configuration differently. I called Barska, and they DO NOT carry any replacement Pick&Pluck foam. As of early September 2015, they said they used to carry replacement foam, but too many people asked for it, and they ran out, with no plans to stock it again. It's beyond me why they opt to discontinue such replacement foam when it's in high demand. I tried buying replacement pick&pluck foam from another company online. It arrived, but the density was much less than the Barska foam (meaning it was basically useless for holding the gun in place in the case). If you end up trying to buy replacement foam, I advise you get higher density. I ended up gluing back together pieces of the original foam that came with the case to make it work. It's fine now, and bottom line, this is a great case.

Overall quality:This case is ok. Quality is somewhere between plano hard case and pelican. Confirmed that it is water tight by submersing in the sink, no water leaked in.Size:Usable inner storage capability is 10.5"L_x_7.5"W_x_3.25"D. I measured about 1/2" inside the dimensions where the "pluckable" foam begins.Price:Too much when compared to a better alternative (as of this review). I bought this on a lightening deal for about $39. An alternative pelican case (Pelican 1170) is going for $36.98 (wish checked this before ordering). A little smaller on the interior on the pelican but much better quality.Recommendation:If this is the size case you are looking for, check the price on the same pelican that will meet your needs. I would probably opt for the pelican unless the savings is > $10.

This is one solid case. I'm using it for transporting electronic equipment and it does a fabulous job. Call Barska directly and you can order extra interior cube foam if you want it. The nice thing about this particular box is it fits inside my "standard sized" roller board luggage, so I have protection for my equipment, but don't generate a third bag. I've actually purchased several more of these after using the first one for a while. Very nice case overall.

Nice case. Big enough for two Beretta 92-sized pistols. Standard lock shackles fit the lock holes. If you pull up the bottom egg crate foam, there's pre-scored foam underneath (scored into about 1/2 inch cubes) that you can pick apart to custom fit whatever you want to put in it. Seems quite sturdy.

Had I the option to do over, I would have paid the price premium and gotten a Pelican case. This Chinese knock-off features pluckable foam that plucks itself (that is, the foam is pre-sliced in a way that it falls apart without human intervention). The purge valve is not automatic; it is similar to the valve used by Pelican many years ago.

Really sturdy case, well built and secure. I use to transport firearm while travelling and this case really fits the need well. Highly recommend if you are looking for a case to secure and protect your firearms.

I received my Barska case yesterday(days earlier than expected) and I'm very pleased with the product. The HD-200 is a great case to keep any valuables safe for transport or storage. Very well built! It's perfect size for my gov model 1911 with a couple of extra mags. Definitely recommend this case to anyone in the market for a "Pelican" level product. It did take me a little extra time to fine tune the pre-cut foam for my pistol. I can't complain though because there's no better case I've seen for the money. It's water-proof weather-proof crush-proof, etc, etc. Thanks Amazon & Loaded Gear.
