Komi Can't Communicate, Vol. 1: Volume 1 : Oda, Tomohito: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: very good book for people who enjoy manga - Komi Can’t Communicate is a cute story of a boy named Todano who meets a new classmate named Komi. When Komi goes to introduce herself to the class, she gets so worked up she ends up writing her name on the board. Most of her classmates don’t question why she decided to write her name on the board due to her being so pretty. Todano ends up getting stuck with Komi during lunch break and decides to try to communicate with her. In a touching scene involving “talking” via blackboard, Tadano learns Komi has a communication disorder. Komi isn’t elusive; she can’t get the courage to speak, and her cool demeanor is a mask to the anxiety she battles. However, despite this she has a goal to make 100 friends. Todano, deciding he’s the first, decides to help her become more social and complete her goal. Considering the high school they go to specifically selects the “most unique” students imaginable, it’s going to be tough. Between Komi’s awkwardness and funny faces, this series is a very good slice-of-life comedy. It is very easy to connect with the characters while getting in a few laughs. I will definitely be picking up the next volume. Review: It’s a really good read. - Feels like it has more depth than the anime. Then I find that with a lot of manga. I’m kinda bias to Komi can’t communicate in particular, as it’s on personal top 10 favourites.

Good manga , good anime
Very fun to read manga. the paper back is great and even now after a few months there hasnt been any problems with tearing ext which has happened on a few of my other manga. Highly recommend reading this (you can always watch the anime first)

She just wants some friends.
I brought the first volume of this series on the fly, after reading the brief summary and seeing a great price. And I will admit in the first few chapters I was questioning if the series had any merit as the title/premise does seem rather limited at first glance. But those thoughts have all been squashed and I cannot wait to read the next few volumes, the characters introduced thus far are quirky, honest and wholesome each with their own personal things to overcome and I love how the books sense of humor. If you are looking for a slice of life comedy to sit back and enjoy this I recommend wholeheartedly.

Took a while to get used to the format, loved it!
My kids wanted to read this after watching the tv show on Netflix, so I thought why not pick it up myself too. I’ve not read any Manga before , or watched any for that matter, but I actually quite enjoyed this, after I got used to how to read it lol. It is laid out in the original way Manga is, so you read it from the back, top right to left, and down. It gets easy as you read! I liked this, Komi is obviously a very shy girl, and has trouble speaking to people. But she wants to make friends, 100 to be exact. So after befriending Tadano, and finding a way to let him know what she wants in life, he jumps at the chance of helping her. It’s a lovely start to a friendship, and I think I will read the next one to see how things go.

Cute and funny
The art is cute. The story is easy to follow with a nice message in a humourus setting. The characters are fun. I have bought 30 in this line already and i look forward to new books being made. I reccomend if you want to read something slower paced, less violent, sweet and funny.
