Total ControlⓇ Cool Touch Damper Handle for Weber Smokey Mountain WSM Kettle Knob BBQ Smoker Damper Thumb Handle

I purchased this handle for both of my Weber kettles. Such a quality of life improvement. No longer do I have to wack the vents to open or close them. Handle stays cool to the touch even when doing a high heat burn-off. The leverage on the vents is pretty nice too. Installation was simple, drill a hole in the upright of the vent, thread in the handle and install the nut. If you have some thread locker I do suggest using some as the heat and cooling cycles may loosen the handle over time.

Used a drill to make a hole in metal handles for upper and lower vents on my Weber 18” Joe I use for camping and tightened the vents. Also bent those tabs slightly so these handles won’t be against the hot grill. Now, I get great airflow control for cooks and can adjust the vents without burning my fingers. Very nice little mod. Works perfect.

Built of hard durable plastic with metal bolt.with the use of a drill I was ble to install this Handle in a very short amount of time. Makes it easy to open or close the top vent with no risk of being burned. Great value for those needing to upgrade their bbq.

Very easy to install, and they're solid. I've added them to all my vent handles on my Weber(s). There are other ways to mod a Weber's vents but this is the easiest way IMHO.

I installed this little item on a new-to-me 2014 Weber kettle i rehabbed. Very easy to install! I marked what looked like the center spot of the aluminum tab and drilled a hole to match the diameter of what the threads required. Done in five minutes. I did use the provided nuts. To avoid the possibility of coming loose, I really should have used loctite. I will add it later if the need arises. I would buy this again.

Works perfectly. Takes a 1/4" drill bit for the hole and a 10mm wrench to tighten the nut.

I’ve had many Weber kettle style grills in my lifetime, and frankly you can (and I have spent thousands on a grill) spend a LOT on a grill! I’ll go ahead and say this, probably get “flamed” by other reviewers for it, but for the money, you just can’t beat a Weber kettle grill. That being said, I have an older 18” Weber Smokey Joe that has nice memories attached to it. It’s been sitting dormant, unused for years. I decided to put it back into use for single cooks for myself. In doing so, I’ve replaced both grates, cleaned the body well, added a dome temperature gauge and added a cover for it. The dome vent gets very hot and I read on a Weber fan forum about adding this KNOB to aid on adjustments. I’ve installed it and will indeed enjoy this addition tonight. I could have easily bought a brand new 18” Smokey Joe for just a bit more than what I’ve spent so far, not including my time and labor, but again it was all about keep a memory, a grill that’s very much like a member of the family, around for years to come. Do know that ALL the replacement parts were bought right here on Amazon.

Not much to say, this product works fairly well to enhance the damper on my Weber 22in kettle grill. I had to drill out a small hole to thread the handle through and hand tightened the nut. Drilling was super easy as the OEM handle is made out of aluminum. I don't feel like I need to tighten the nut down anymore than hand-tight and it hasn't come loose after about 4 months of semi-regular use.

I have added this to my 57cm weber kettle. Much easier and safer to open top vent now.

Nice and small. Fits Weber Go-Anywhere well. I used a 6mm drill bit.

It's a little smaller but worked out perfectly and it fits so I am happy.

I purchased this product for all four vents and I am glad I did. Never get too hot and provide leverage for when the smoker is cold and the vent harder to open due to accumulated residue from our various cooks.
