Getting ready to purchase the TENS 3000 or 7000...should I order the Tensive adhesive gel also?  Do you use the gel with your machine?

However, keep in mind that as the adhesive deteriorates so does the conductive element.  Even if the adhesive gel allows you to get 20-30 uses out of the electrodes (industry standard is about 15 applications) you may only be working at a 50% or less capacity of the pads current distribution capabilities.  The best solution in our opinion to buy a high quality American made electrode with either a carbon conductive element http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NA7YFM4 or even better, a silver conductive element http://www.amazon.com/Patients-Choice%C2%AE-Silver-Square-Electrodes/dp/B00JWRBRHC that will allow you the highest quality foundation on which to use the adhesive gel to extend the life of the electrode.  Keep in mind, what you are paying for in the electrode is the quality of the conductive element and its components.  The adhesive gel will only extend the life of the electrode as far as the quality of electrode will allow.

How long will this unit run on a single battery?

Totally depends on how often you use it and How you use it.
I've found batteries last longer when on a pulsing pattern than a steady pattern.
-- which makes sense since they're "on" for only two thirds of the time.
It also depends upon how many channels (pairs of electrodes) you use.
Most times I only use one pair of electrodes -- to target one area.
This seems to use half the amount of electricity, and so the batteries last twice as long.
I take the left over 9 volt batteries from smoke detectors and use them.  They still have enough "juice" left in them to power a tens unit for a long while.
Be sure to replace your smoke detector batteries :)
