SD Media Launcher 1GB (Wii)

This is what you're looking for if you want to play your gamecube backups or run any homebrew software. It also works with the Wii and it's best used in conjunction with some sort of loader like Swiss and an SD Gecko/Wii Key SD (got mine for £1.99 off ebay) so that you can use cards with high capacity to load up stuff.

With this accessory, you can boot homebrew apps such as emulators, etc. off the SD card that comes in the package. Everything you need is included, even the card reader. Just keep in mind that: - It runs on an outdated card library, and for this reason is ONLY compatible with the old SD format, and NOT with the current SDHC one. -Card compatibility may vary, this also depends on the apps that you're booting. I'm currently using a cheap 2 Gb Samsung one. Sometimes it boots straight away, and sometimes I have to remove and re-insert it, or switch the memory slot. I hear you can circumvent the Sd card limitation by booting certain apps (do a quick search) from the provided card, and then switching it for a larger one. But I've never tried this myself. You DON'T need to modify your Gamecube in any way - just run everything off SD cards! I'm currently using it for a bit of emulation and homebrew ports of abandonware PC games, and no tinkering with the console was required. 4 stars for this product. Would have been 5 if not for the card limitation and compatibility, but it was definitely worth my money.

does exactly what it says plays my backups without adjusting the laser pot i dont know if thats only for certain gamecubes ? just one fault with the over all product. It arrived in one piece but found scuff marks and a scratch on the cd making me question about its condition, but it works so i cant complain to much. I would give it 5 stars but the scuffed cd took away 2 o_0

Got this for use with a gamecube and it works a treat. I got a bonus too.... datel sent a 2GB version instead ;) Easy use but you need to search for "SWISS" and "GCOS" online for the loader software as it does not come with software on the SD card. Now I can play "homebrew" games like emulators, etc on the gamecube. Do some research first before buying one as it may not be what you want. Would highly recommend as it can run backup's too.

every time I put the disk in it tells me that the disk cannot be read. I wouldn't recommend this item and am very upset at the price for something that does not work. I will be returning the item and am very disappointed in the trouble I went through to try and make this item work all in all its not worth the money

It does what the product description says (bit expensive) but to run gamecube backups you might need to adjust the pot of the laser.

Excellent for playing all my backup gamecube games.

Great product. Does what it is says on the box. Got this to read some back ups I had laying around. My only problem is that the cd didn't have a cover so I had to look for one around the house. Recommend this to anyone wanting to run emulators and back ups on their GameCube. This product does work on the wii but you can't run back up cd's as when you take the disk out of the tray the wii returns to the home menu.

El envío correcto, en muy poco tiempo. Lo mejor, el servicio de atención al cliente. Al llegarme el producto no sabía muy bien como configurarlo y me atendieron estupendamente durante todo el proceso y ante cualquier duda que tuviera.

Die Idee ist gut, aber schade wurde nur billiges Material verwendet. Der DVD Rohling wurde so schlecht gepresst, dass der Ganecube mehrmals ein und ausgeschaltet werden muss. Weil er die DVD oft nicht erkennt und der GC2SD Adapter hat bei mir nicht funktioniert und die Verarbeitung ist katastrophal, hab mir dann einen bei AliExpress bestellt, der funktioniert einwandfrei.
