FireAngel SB1-R Optical, Battery Powered Smoke/Detector Alarm for Home

I purchased this fire alarm in 2023, and it has been a fantastic product from day one. It came with a one-year battery guarantee, and it worked flawlessly all the way up until yesterday, when I believe the battery finally died. During the time I had it, I never experienced a single issue-the performance was excellent and incredibly reliable. The only real downside is the battery itself. It seems to be irreplaceable, which is a shame because the alarm is otherwise a quality product. If the manufacturer could move toward a greener, more sustainable design that allows for battery replacement, it would make this product both longer-lasting and more environmentally friendly. I bought these on recommendation and reviews. They are a great size at a great price and hopefully we’ll do the job. Fitted easily and up and running. Luckily not had to use them for Real so I can’t comment whether they will save peoples lives. So far so good highly recommend recommended

Have a few of these in the house already and one of them kept false triggering. Decided after battery swaps etc to bin it and replaced with this like for like especially as these costs almost nothing and one wants the peace of mind safety. No problems since As was like for like use the same mount so took 20 seconds to fit. Test every now and then and no false alarms

I should learn to read all the reviews already posted, not just the gushing five star ones. If I had I would have found a post from someone with the same problem I had, the fixing plate. I have other alarms in the house with a fixing plate and the actual alarm fits into it in a twising motion, but this plate is very flimsy. It may be better on completely flat surfaces but on a textured ceiling it did not fit well and the catches on the alarm were also very flimsy. I would expect it would break by the time I changed the battery twice. I did install it but then just felt it would soon fall off the ceiling the catches were so poor. I also did not like the regular light flicker and slight beep it made. Would drive someone mad if in the same room. I decided to send them back and get a sturdier alarm. Price is not everything when you need an alarm you can rely on.
