The film is a masterpiece of genuine tension, emotional story and palpable, visceral horror. It never goes over the top, nor should it! Based on the hit Japanese novel of the same name, Takashi Miike takes you on a journey of sincere tragedy, sympathetic beauty and ruthless vengeance. It’s a dark descent, sometimes brutal but never gratuitous. I’m a huge lover of foreign cinema and this film knocked my socks off with its incredible performances and eerie tale. See this film with a strong stomach and stronger heart- it will change your perspective in more ways than one. Definitely one of Miike’s best films and another home run for Arrow Video. This is the one that started my love for Asian horror. Glad to have this edition finally added to the collection

Audition is really good and scary!
The Japanese horror movie Audition is really good and scary. It has a really good story and cast. Audition is one of the best horror movies that I have seen that even thought I want to look away at times I just can't! I really like this movie and will want to watch it over and over again. I am a fan of international horror movies! I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of horror movies! The Blu-ray case and disc are in great condition. The Video, Audio, and English subtitles work great!

Amazing but maybe not what you think
This film takes it's time. If you're a huge gore fan and you hear about this movie don't expect too much. This film is fantastic though and a big changer in Japanese cinema pushing the boundaries during it's time. If all you care about is gore skip to the last 15 minutes of the movie but if you want to learn about the story (which is fantastic) and learn and care about these characters then I suggest watching it all. Truly a great film and one that has an impact in history.

Arrived in perfect condition. The film is delightfully horrific and the film-grain looks wonderful in high definition. Arrow delivers.

Left me squirming in fear
In this nail-biting thriller from prolific Japanese auteur Takashi Miike, a mild-mannered widower holds a fake casting audition in hopes of finding the woman of his dreams only to discover that his budding romance may be leading to a nightmare. This film cleverly brings your guard down so well yet you inevitably find yourself gasping for air as the suspense continuously builds. This is a film that still leaves me squirming in fear.
