Great for a group, easy to learn, quick to play.
Great game for a group. Can adjust how many cards are played to make the game longer or shorter. Our family loved this. It was fast to play, easy to stop if needed, and we loved trying to think up out side the box clues. Basic game play: the guesser will draw a card then leaves or covers their eyes and a word is chosen that needs to be guesses. The rest of the players write down one word that they think will get the guesser to know the answer. The players will share their One Word with each other first and if anyone repeats a word someone else wrote those answers are disqualified. Then the guesser gets to see all remaining words to hopefully guess the correct answer. There is no real "winner" since you're all working together to get someone to guess an answer. This is a good change of pace if you have people who are highly competitive. Pieces include cards with words, dry erase markers and plastic plates to write answers on.

Fun Easy Game
This is a fun and easy game. Everyone is on the same team. Comes with enough for 8 people to play, but you could easily buy two copies and play up to 16 people. Here is how it plays. One person (the active player) chooses a card without looking at it, shows it to everyone else and chooses a number between 1-5. Everyone else writes a one word clue to help the active player guess the word. But before, the active player looks at the clues, all the clue givers compare their one word clues. Any duplicated clues cannot be shown to the active player. The active player is then shown the unique clues (Just 1) and makes a guess on what the mystery word is. If the active player is write, the whole team gains a point. You are trying to get as many points as possible out of 13 cards. Fun game. Will eventually need an expansion set to provide more cards, which should be fairly inexpensive. However, this base set provides a lot of fun and replay-ability.

Such a great game that I can get anyone to play!
I'm a gamer and love complex strategy games. However, I also like playing with my family and guests. This game is so easy to teach and play that I never see that glazed over look or people looking for the closest exit as I explain. Those in my family who run when I get out the games, have been surprised by how much they enjoy it, and it's so simple that we have been able to accommodate new people to jump into the game. We've even played with more than 7 by just giving some players paper and pen. It's a great one for non-gamers. You would need to be able to write and spell and have a decent vocabulary to play well, so that might exclude younger children.

Simple fun made better with modifications
Summary: simple, co-op party game, can be made more fun, buy if on sale. I rather enjoyed this game and have played it many times with groups of 6-8 players. The max is listed as 7, but the guesser does not need an easel, though playing with 8 may change the difficulty. The basic rules are fairly simple and listed in the description. One key area you may want to iron out beforehand is which words cancel out. The rule book does list some examples (e.g. variants of the same word family - prince and princess), but we ran into a few situations that were not clear from reading the rules, e.g. involving symbols and slang. The first round I ever played was spent clarifying rules and feeling out how the group gave clues to each other. We did not do that well and immediately wanted to play again! The second time, however, we went on a 16 card winning streak (max was 13, but we kept going). Good grief, the game seemed way too easy now. Not wanting to feel like I wasted my money, and hoping to keep the interest of the group, I quickly proposed some rule modifications. We ended up playing another two hours. Here are some ideas for some rule modifications. As you can see, you can come up with your own off of the basic idea of the game! 1) Speed rounds - e.g. 10 seconds to write clues once the guesser calls a number, then 30 seconds for the guesser to give their one guess. Lower the time as you progress. (5 seconds to write got very intense and hectic!) 2) Survival - see how long you can go through the cards with a limited number of "lives", or no lives at all. 3) Arrangements - if a round is too difficult, writers can arrange the clues in patterns/associations to help the guesser. 4) Pictionary clues - pictures only! This can be highly variable in difficulty. Should have a time limit, and no canceling out clues anymore. 5) Pictionary combo - same as above, with longer time limit. Draw lines to split the easel into 5 sections, and then instead of the guesser picking a number, the goal is to have them guess ALL the words on the card. In the time limit, the artists try to draw as many of the 5 words on the card as they can without coordinating. Score would be how many the guesser can guess correctly (one guess each). I like to think of this purchase as buying the basic idea of the game along with some nice dry erase markers and plastic easels. You could really just play this game with pencils and paper and a word generator. There were also a few typos in the cards, and my group found it amusing that the symbols on the side of the box were not easily understood (for 3-7 players, ages 8+, and 20 minutes per game). So it's not the most polished game out there, but it is a very creative idea that has a lot of potential. As I got this on sale, I do think it is money well spent for the amount of fun we had. The rule modifications were key for us to keep interest. Whether or not it is worth it is up to you and your group, but if you see this at a decent price, I'd encourage you to give it a shot!

Fun Family Game
I was given this as a gift and bought a copy to give a friend who doesn't have much experience with board games. It's easy to learn and lots of fun. I ended up getting another copy for another friend to play with her kids who are 11 and 12. They love it as well although sometimes they have to veto a word that the children don't know.

A hit with gamers and not gamers. Dead simple to explain, virtually no set up (you pop out the components and you are good yo go), cooperative yet challenging as you want to be obvious enough to give good clues but not too obvious to get repeated clues that cancel each other. Also perfect quick game, as you can stop playing whenever you want
