Earise AL-101 3.5mm Mini Computer Speakers, Powered by USB (White)

I purchased these speakers for my wife since she like small items and she just loved the color white. To be honest, I had very low expectations on how these would sound but once I hooked them up, I was taken by surprise on how full these little cute speakers actually sound. Obviously there is not much bass but you don't really miss it since the sound has a very rich low-mid, clear voices and nice sparkling high. They can also be played quite loud without distorting. I'm absolutely pleasantly surprised and I'm wondering if I should have bought a set for myself after getting another set that was 5 times as expensive and required a separate sub woofer. I'm giving these speakers 5 stars because they fully exceeded my expectation. They do not need an external power supply and have two cables for your computer: 1 goes into the USB port which provides the power and the other one goes into the audio output of the computer.

Did I get a different set of speakers than everybody else who ordered them? These are positively glowing reviews. I just logged on, after about 2 weeks, to go to the trouble of returning them, and can not believe how well they seem to have worked for everybody else. First of all, I have an Asus Chrome Box ASUS CHROMEBOX-M004U Desktop . Perhaps that is the problem? My husband plugged the speakers up for me and right away announced that they made a buzzing, hissing sound, but that if I kept the volume turned down, it shouldn't bother me. We tried to figure out what we could be doing wrong to get the noise but he determined that there was literally no other way to plug the speakers in. We experimented on how low we could keep the volume, to reduce the noise, but still get a reasonable level of sound when I clicked on a song or a video. The volume was so low that my husband could no longer hear the buzzing, but I still could. I posted a question asking if anybody else had gotten the same results and managed to fix it, and the only response I got was somebody saying I could fix it the same way they did: by throwing them in the trash. "You get what you pay for." Then, I waited another 10 days or longer for another response. Along the way, the buzzing got to me and I asked my husband to unplug the speakers to save my nerves. My intentions were to plug the speakers in just whenever I needed them. That of course never happened. I don't need sound badly enough to endure the buzzing. I've given up now and I'm returning them. Perhaps they aren't compatible with Chrome Boxes? Or perhaps they aren't compatible with Asus products at all? I could only guess, but from where I'm sitting, I warn you not to buy these. At least one other person has had the same experience. Note: My husband bought me the Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers to replace these and they work fine. No buzzing or hissing. They have their own power source (plug into the wall, not just into the computer) but I have no idea if that is what makes the difference. They were a little cheaper than the speakers I'm reviewing and work great.

They worked great for my office computer. My old speakers sounded great, but didn't have a 'low volume' setting that was low enough for the office. I had purchased a much cheaper product to start with and they failed within a week, so I have been relieved that these are working well. I thought the price was reasonable. The sound quality is good for my purposes. I didn't buy them to play music on, but they sound fine for listening to Pandora in the background while I work.

The sound is not very good. It is easy to use and practical for an around the house laptop but the sound is not great.

Could be louder but nice for price. Bass is decent.

I got these because my laptop speakers were "hit and miss" when I wanted to view something on the internet or when I was streaming. It was usually too low (even on the highest volume setting) for me to hear well, so I was constantly plugging in my headphones only to have to unplug them the next time I wanted to hear something. These little speakers are wonderful! I was a little worried for the price they would have a "tinny" sound or crackle. They have a great sound for both speaking and music. Plus they are small enough that I can pack them into my laptop case to use them for my classes that I teach and use a large monitor connected to my lap top without having to haul bigger speakers which need their own power source.

Fantastic little speakers. $12 is an absolute steal - they fit very well on my desk and are extremely loud and clear for the size. Only thing to note is that the USB plug (for power) and the 3.5mm plug (for audio) are connected pretty closely in the cord - I had originally planned to plug the 3.5mm into my computer and the USB into a wall adapter (as I was short on USB ports) but that won't work. But overall, highly recommended. Also they come in a handful of different colors - blue, lime green, etc. - so poke around and find the one you like best.
