Review: The Album Where You Know Every Song! - I am so glad the Grammy organization decided to put together a nominees album. But, there has always been a song or three that I did not know or like. This 2011 album is perfect. Every song on here I have heard before at some point. This album is just good music. AOL Music has a New Music section where you can listen to whole albums and this is on the list right now. So if you want to hear the whole album not just 30 sec snippets, go there. But, definitely get the album because it won't be listed on there for long. A lover of music will find him or herself singing along or snapping their fingers. I even got up at one point to dance a little bit. And, I was at work. This is a keeper. It's listed for a great price which is why I will buy instead of waiting for it to be listed in the mp3 store to download it. Get this one. Review: This is for mothers and fathers also - When I turned 40 almost 12 years ago I realized that my taste in music had not really evolved since I was 25. I worked late hours and focused on my career and starting a family. For some reason, at that point I purchased my first Grammy CD. I really did not like a lot of the music on the CD. But, it remained in my car. I skipped the songs that did not appeal to me. Over the course of a month there were times when I would forget to skip a track and listen to songs that were not my preference. As I became more familiar with these songs, I began to appreciate genres that had previously not appealed to me. Among others, I came to enjoy and understand hip hop and rap, and to recognize the popular artists. Each year since then, I have purchased the Grammy CD (and mp3 now) and I follow the same pattern of exposing myself to new music and new artists. I look forward to purchasing the CD, though from year to year the changes now are less dramatic than when I began. I also began having friends by to watch the awards show, which has been fun. I am by no means an audiophile. However, while many of my peers hear new music as noise, I have acquired a much better appreciation of popular artists. My son's college aged friends are usually shocked that his decrepit father likes songs by eminem or TI. Maybe in 20 years my grandchildren will be the ones asking: "how does grandpa know about that?". Even if you listen to the radio every day you probably hear a narrow range of music. This CD will broaden your perspective. It is a great anti-aging product. There are other annual compilations, but this is the best from my perspective. I listen to other music during the year, but buying this CD each year hopefully will keep me open to enjoying new music. I would hate to become stuck again.

Loved it, except for Train - Soul Sister
I ordered this cd to play in my cd player in the car. Plus, I could upload it to my computer. It's a win/win situation for me. I really liked the album except for one song. Train's "Soul Sister." This really disappointed me because I LOVE this song. It's a different version which is not studio quality. I was listening to the entire CD and all of the other songs were crisp and clear. Then this song came on. Honestly, I can't listen to this version. The rest of the CD is good and was what I expected. I just liked having several popular songs from the previous year all on one disc. Now I listen to the Glee version of "Soul Sister."

my opinion
Whoever came up with this collection is a genius!!! Every single song on here is pure magic and and great collection of what was nominated this year...I truly can't wait till next year's comes out...I've been collecting the Grammy cds ever since they first came available. Now, if somebody could just explain the appeal of Arcade Fire to me...they were the only ones who left me scratching my head....

Adam Lambert & some other folks . ..
Whoo-Hoo! I was so happy to get this to add to my collection of CD's because of the inclusion of the incomparable vocal talents of Adam Lambert. My kids get a kick out of a few of the mostly unintelligible filler around Adam, and we all sort of enjoy Train. Because of Idol, we are getting to know Cee-Lo Green's otherwise forgettable number, and maybe they will get me to listen to that candy-with-coating guy who tends to drone on and curse a lot. Either way, Adam's inclusion makes this more than just blah, blah, shelf liner in music stores. Need to keep my collection up to date as he rises to iconic legend status.

Grammy 2011 CD
As always, I enjoy the mix of the Grammy CDs but this one is a little too much R&B for me. Not my favorite type of music. And, the R&B selections that are on here this year are not that good.

Really Great!!
If you like a variety of music genres, the Grammy Nominees CD'S from various years is the way to go. This is the 6th one added to my collection. It's a great way to enjoy the best of a variety of artists and music!!

As usual Grammy Nominees series CDs are best-buys for people like me who want to know what was the music-trend was prevalent in certain years and want to enjoy critically and commercially successful music.
