This is the second flexi fix toilet seat from Croydex I own. Our last one of 5 years finally gave up the ghost and I ordered exactly the same seat again..mainly because it was a simple swap of the seat to the existing fittings. I will say tho that I found it quite easy to fit originally. Seat is sturdy and doesnt slip about. Our toilet has hardly any space for a standard fitting to get your hands underneath to tighten the washers so this top fitting version was a god send. I did watch a few your tube vids first which helped massively. The seat is sturdy. We like a good wooden seat as they are stronger than thin plasticky versions and we can sit on top of this seat when its closed with no fear of cracking! The soft close lid part doesnt last forever. I think ours went after about a year. I have never found a toilet seat where this function last forever anyway. The paint work on the lid is ok. Not amazing but very very minor. I only noticed it whilst fitting. I am sure our guests don't have their eyeball 1 inch away from the seat any way when they visit to spot the very minor imperfections in the first place lol!

Lovely slow close

I thought it would be helpful to post a review of my experience in-case it might be useful for others should they have the same problem that I had. This should have been a 5 star review as I think this toilet seat is a great product from a good UK based manufacturer but there was a quality problem that has cost the product a star. In addition to following the installation instructions I did a couple of tests during installation to make sure that I would be happy with the final result. At the point where I was ready to remove the backing of the adhesive pads I placed the toilet seat onto the toilet and tried to open the seat to see if it would stay up. I found that as a result of this test I needed to move the placement of the hinges a few mm forward so that the seat could effectively lean back onto the toilet cistern and stay upright. The second test after I had removed the backing pads I located the seat onto the toilet and before performing the final push-down of the hinges onto the toilet(in order to help firmly secure the seat to the toilet) I thought I would test the seat to check it opened and stayed up and was properly aligned and was surprised to find the seat had an unacceptable wiggle which can be seen on the video. It appears that one of the cross-head machine screws in the base of the hinges had not been tightened properly during manufacture so that the toilet seat was not at-all secure and would have been unusable. When the seat was down the seat was able to be moved from side to side by more than 1cm. The video is of the product when the seat was first installed and you can see that there is excessive play in the left hand hinge which when the seat was down resulted in a seriously unstable seat. In order to rectify I used a narrow screwdriver and worked around the hinges where they had stuck to the toilet and slowly lifted them free from the toilet. (The adhesive pads had still managed to grip the toilet) The photographs show the base of the two hinges after removal and you might notice on one of the photographs the centre of the cross-headed machine screw is missing/worn away which may be the reason why that the screw was not properly tightened by the manufacturer. It is a simple process to use a screwdriver to tighten the screw and then re-fit the seat which was then properly secure and stable. Given that I was having to make this rectification anyway I also removed the screws and re-fitted with the addition of some thread-lock just to make sure they stay put in the long-run. I have left it a couple of months to post this review and the seat is still rock solid and looking like new. Despite my experience with this seat I would still buy this seat again and other products from this manufacturer as the seat is more comfortable than the one it replaced, also slightly wider and heavier. I prefer that there is no soft-close mechanism as this is more to go wrong later.

Very pleased with this toilet seat, seems very sturdy and doesn't move when sitting on it. The white fixings look loads better and easy to clean than chrome, would buy again when needed.

Dont bother buying replaced with same seat I had before that last two years before the hinge become loose. The new one has lasted a few months and has already come loose on the same hinge. It fits solid to the toilet just the hinges are awful it seems now waste of money and won't be buying again save yourself the money as you will be replacing very quickly what was a good solid product isnt anymore

As with all toilet seats, it's troublesome. How many claim they don't slip, or move or whatever, and there is always something to let it down. With this item, yes it does stay in place, but only because I fitted front side guides which sit inside the rim of the bowl. Initially it would not. A real bind is the quick release mechanism, this is faffy, sometimes it will release itself on one side, allowing the whole seat to drift, but then it won't lock back in without a fiddle. Very frustrating. It claims to be a 10 minute setup. It took me about an hour of fiddling about to set up the right position. The adjustment system is a bit of a nightmare, and although the self adhesive adjusting plates are a great idea, it is extremely difficult to get it all set, mark the porcelain, remove it all, peel off the backing, then reassemble it all, getting it all exactly right. Not for the faint hearted. I might have an odd shaped toilet, but it certainly wasn't as easy as the company advertised, but it's on. So to the slow close mechanism...... Well, it's slow..... Veeeeerrrryyyyy ssslllloooowwww...... In fact, at times it just closes until its about 10mm from the porcelain, then just hovers, catching out the next unsuspecting visitor, it can be quite unnerving to feel like you are falling through as it slams down the last few millimeters when your backside hits it at terminal velocity. It's pretty sturdy though which is a blessing, and made of MDF which allowed me to screw in the side guides, which incidentally are the best thing ever for a toilet seat. So overall, as toilet seats go, it's only OK. I've had better at this price point, but I've had far worse. They are such a difficult item to get right I think because there are so many variables. We go through toilet seats like shelling peas, so am becoming an bit of an aficionados, and to be fair this one is in my top 5 despite the hiccups. I feel one has to accept there is no perfect seat, because of all the variables, so buy one, work with it and take your time. The closer and locking mechanism could be a bit better, but the main thing, it hasn't broken yet! Which is our main issue. Oh! And it's not so comfortable that you get ensconced, which might be a blessing for busy households.

Hochwertiger, leicht zu montierender Toilettendeckel, der sich zügig absenkt und mit einem leisen Geräusch aufsetzt. Meine unbedingte Empfehlung.

Dopo un paio di ordini poco soddisfacenti, forse ci siamo... Fa ridere recensire un copriwater, ma queso è seriamente un ottimo articolo. Resistentissimo, ragionevolmente facile da montare e con un sistema di chiusura accompagnata che evita il coperchio che sbatte perchè sfugge di mano, magari in piena notte. Soddisfattissimi e articolo consigliatissimo!
