desertcart.com: Supermarket: 9781982127138: Hall, Bobby: Books Review: Great Book - One of my favorite novels. And what makes it even better is that it was written by one of my favorite musicians. Review: Darkly Funny, Raw, and Uncomfortably Brilliant - Darkly funny and thought-provoking, psychological thriller written by the music artist Logic (whose real name is apparently Bobby Hall). Story follows Flynn, a struggling writer battling depression & writer’s block, who takes a job at a local supermarket hoping to find inspiration for his book. The plot quickly spirals into a surreal exploration of mental health, identity, and the blurred line between reality & imagination. This was heavily reminiscent of Fight Club, both have unreliable narrators, mental disintegration, and an on-point critique of consumer culture. Super raw & immersive read.

Good book
The book “Supermarket” by Bobby Hall was a suspenseful, thriller book. This book was very good and at certain points I could not put down the book. There was time my jaw was on the floor and times when I was confused. This book puts you through an emotional rollercoaster with a big plot twist that is unexpected. The plot devices used in this book was Macguffin, and Deus Ex Machina. Macguffin was used at the end as a helpful unexpected ending. Multiple objects were used to bring the plot to a resolution. Deus Ex Machina is also used because the problem was unexpectedly solved. Deus Ex Machina and Macguffin worked hand and hand in this book. I did enjoy this novel. Like I previously stated I was shocked and got emotionally invested in this book. There are lots of turns and plot twists that will leave you wanting to read more. The characters get you invested, and curiosity keeps you reading. I enjoyed all the characters and the way the book was set up. I really enjoyed the breaking of the fourth wall that was done frequently. I would recommend this book. In fact, I have recommended it. If you like mysteries this book is such a good choice. It’s hard to explain why I recommend it without spoiling it, but the plot twist will leave your jaw dropped. Overall, this book gets an 8.5/10 and that is just because I had to read this book for school. The book is short but so good and I highly recommend.

Huge fan says amazing read!
Bought my boyfriend Ultra 95 and i honestly didn’t know about Supermarket before hand untill he told me. He’s a huge fan and had been wanting both books. So I instantly bought this after I bought the other and he was so happy. He says they are both great reads and are in his top 3 favorite books. It arrived quickly , and the package wasn’t damaged or bent at all surprisingly since it was shoved in my mailbox.

An honest review
I was skeptical when first deciding if I wanted to read this book or not. The reviews either thought it was amazing or it was complete garbage. Im a person who loves to read and I'm also a big logic fan. (Which i set aside so I wouldn't have bias views) Im about to give an honest answer of what I thought about this book. The only real big con is the writing at the first part of the book. It's really eh. Every other review that spoke negatively would tell you the same thing. "The writing is bad, its like a 6th grader wrote it!" I won't gloss over the fact that the writing could be improved, but we need to stop glossing over the fact that the plot and the story is absolutely captivating. The world he builds is really amazing. Bobby's struggles with writing are told in the perspective of Flynn which was really intreserting to see. He really showcased what a mad artist is like. Characters could've been better and have more depth but other than that it was overall a really good book. The only thing that didn't make it a 5/5 was the writing. But you could tell bobby improved by part 2. Logic if your reading this, Keep making novels. You have some serious potential. With some shaping up I believe you can write a book that'll make me give a 5 star review.

Bobby Hall / Logic is Relatable
Wow. I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. It was so good I finished the whole thing in 7 hours over the span of two days. I came away from the book thinking that Logic / Bobby Hall is such a relatable guy who just wants to help people (this really shows in the Acknowledgements section of the book). Maybe for me it's because I also love Mac DeMarco and Alan Watts (and am a white dude who also has a rap album haha), and he mentions them both in the book; but oh man I have never in my life connected to an author like this. It's been a long time since I've laughed while reading a book or thought "holy shit! The author actually published that?!?!" (You'll know what I'm talking about if/when you read it haha). His knowledge of, or rather, ability to explain anxiety is unreal. I've dealt with a lot of it personally after a interestingly rough/rewarding year of AmeriCorps service in a Homeless Shelter based in a small town of roughly 10,000 people, and I can't even begin to explain how accurate he was in describing what derealization feels like in addition to the other thoughts/anxieties that come across your mind when experiencing something like that. While Bobby may not use the most eloquent language to convey what he is trying to get across, I really do think the book has quite a bit of value that it could provide to someone that is dealing with anxiety or hopelessness. Do yourself a favor and read this book. (Also the guy made an album ABOUT THE BOOK. Literally, I think he might be the first person ever to make a soundtrack to a book. Maybe I'm wrong, but either way it's still awesome).
