Is it working if my pegs are too loose? will it cause any side effects to the violin?

I used Hill The Original Peg Compound, several months ago, on my pegs which were slipping out of tune. They have worked fine ever since. However, I rarely use the pegs to tune my violin. Instead I usually use the fine tuners. But I have not had any more problems with slipping pegs. I have a student violin.

Is Hill peg compound a non-newtonian fluid?

It is a solid paste. Like lipstick.

Will this work with metal pegs?

Sorry, no idea if it will work on metal pegs.

Hill (not "the original") Peg Compound is cheaper. Is it the same thing?

This is the shit. Right down to the name of the product, "COMPOUND FOR PEGS WHICH HAVE CEASED TO TURN SMOOTHLY". Who needs to pay for a copywriter when you're this excellent?On the downside, I now have to wait around for other suckers who are tuning with slipping pegs, and also my playing still isn't as good as Ray Chen.
