When the kumquats are divided into multiple species, the name Fortunella margarita (or Citrus margarita) is used for this group. The oval kumquat is also called the Nagami kumquat. The unusual feature of the Nagami kumquat is in the eating of the fruit. The fruit is eaten whole, skin and all. The inside is still quite sour, but the skin has the sweeter flavour, when eaten together it produces an unusual tart-sweet, refreshing flavour. Amazing quality

Too sour
I love kumquats, and so rarely find them! Took a shot and ordered here on Amazon. The seller was great, no problems there. The fruit, however, was absolutely awful! Truly, I adore sour fruit-grapefruit is among my favorites and I eat those easily with zero sugar or flavorings. Straight off the tree. These made me absolutely ill, though! They were so sour (ate only 3) that it actually irritated my vagus nerve, which made me woozy and dizzy (per the UC doctor) and gave me heartburn for 3 days. Again, though, seller was very good and prompt; the fruit was absolutely beautiful and fresh. Unfortunate that they are inedible as is. I'll have to make jam or compote.

WHAT CAN I SAY? WOW! I LOVE KUMQUATS, SO I BOUGHT TWO ORDERS. CAN I SAY AGAIN, WOW! THEY WERE PERFECT; THEY WERE SHIPPED WITH TENDERNESS (WHICH I ALWAYS APPRECIATE), AND THEY STARTED TO DISAPPEAR IMMEDIATELY, OF COURSE, ONTO MY PLATE WITH ABOUT EVERYTHING! THEN, A GREAT IDEA STRUCK! WHY NOT PRESERVE SOME OF THEM IN SYRYP? WHY NOT, I THOUGHT TO MYSELF. SO, I PURCHASED "MONIN" SYRUPS; HIBISCUS; PASSION FRUIT; WHITE PEACH, AND MANGO. THEN I PURCHASED SOME HISBISCUS FLOWERS. DELISIOSO!! THEY ARE EXQUISITE! MAKE A SIMPLE SYRUP; BLANCH THE KUMQUATS 3 TIMES STAGGERED (15 MINUTES; 10 MINUTES; 5 MINUTES) COOLING DOWN IN BETWEEN. THEN MAKE THE SYRUP; ADD THE SYRUPS (8 TBSP EACH OR TO TASTE) WITH ANOTHER 3/4 CUP OF SUGAR. ADD A FEW HISBISCUS FLOWERS AND IF PREFERRED, A FEW CARDEMOM SEEDS. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL WHEN THEY ARE DONE; THEY HAVE A LOVELY ORANGE COLOR, WITH A GORGEOUS CANDIED APPEARANCE, AND THE TASTE IS TO DIE FOR, BUT PLEASE DON'T, THEN YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO EAT THE REST. YOU WON'T REGRET THIS PURCHASE!!

No flavor
They were inedible. Like eating packing popcorn. I was so excited to see no mold and they had no juice, no citrus flavor. Just a complete disappointment. Heartbroken
