Review: The Best Guide To The Canon EOS T5i - Each time I get a "new" camera I pick up a copy of at least one guidebook for the model, so I'm better positioned to get the most out of the camera's capabilities..., and improve my photo skills. The first book I purchased on the T5i was reasonably comprehensive, and written by someone who's known for his camera-specific books. However, after reading the book, and spending a good deal of time going back into it for specific features, I thought there were features of the camera that had not been adequately covered, or had been presented in a way that led to more questions than provided answers. Enter Julie Adair King, well-known photographer, and teacher, and her Dummies book. I have been a fan of her photography for years, and have looked for an opportunity to attend one of her classes/courses, but for now her book has expanded my knowledge about, and use of the camera's features, and capabilities, and has reassured me the T5i is the right camera for me. Tip: Read the book without your camera in your lap! Review: Great book for DSLR beginners. - This is an awesome book! I just got my first DSLR camera and knew almost nothing about them. I am still working my way through the book but the instructions are very clear and the writers are concise and often witty (yes, I have laughed out loud at a camera instruction book - yikes). Even though I haven't finished the book I already feel very comfortable with my camera, its settings, and even the more advanced options.

If this is or was your first experience with a DSLR camera then this is the book for you. As an aside, it was my first. Nevertheless, the author does a great job of explaining exactly what each function of the camera does. It is really a step by step guide for โdummies.โ I was amazed to find a book that actually led me step by step as to what a CMOS sensor does and how to use it. While the book does not teach much on how to shoot a really good picture it does explain how you should go about doing it. I see that as more of a trial and error issue. However, what I did do after reading each section was to go outside and try what I had just read!!!! Also, the lessons are clear and the extra websites listed in the book are a PLUS!

Great step up from the user manual
Just like all the โฆ for dummies books, it gives a great overview and works as advertised. Perfect for getting to know your camera and learning how all the features work. It opened up a few features I didnโt know about and gave me a better idea about the features I was kind of using. If you really want to take the T5i to the next level there are more advanced books that pick up where this one leaves off.

Nice, easy to follow
Nice, easy to follow. Set up in sections, so beginners can...start at the beginning! Each chapter is a building block for the next. It's also easy to find a specific task and discover how to use your camera in more ways than you ever imagined. Great job in writing this one, it works for beginners and experienced photographers.

Useful if you're learning about SLR camera.
Very useful. I have a Rebel T4i which is almost identical to the T5i. Even if I had my camera for more than 2 years, I still learned some features that I didn't know about with this camera. The book is easy to read and well described.

Very informative and great presentation
I was not expecting this book to be as good as it is, last time I looked at one of these Dummies books it was one of their 1st, DOS FOR DUMMIES, and it was very basic black and white text on the standard paper used in most paper back of the time, very informative but bland presentation.... HOWEVER, this book is printed on beautiful glossy paper with incredible color images and YES it is also still as informative as ALWAYS ! Heaps of important tips etc even for an experienced photographer - EXCELLENT choice someone to really get up close and personal with their Canon EOS T5i/700D !

Great Guide for the Rebel T5i
As I just purchased the camera, and the book - I can't really tell you how useful or helpful it was; however I can tell you that from the topics I've skimmed, there appears to be a ton of information about how to take great pictures with this camera. It is written how you expect other books in the For Dummies series to be written, and explains a lot of the more complicated concepts away. The best part is that this is written for the EXACT model camera that I have, and there isn't any need to interpret anything and apply it differently due to differences in cameras.

Great book, with sensible, realistic advice throughout
Great book. Comprehensive, sensible advice. Not overly technical, very clear guidance. Book takes you through from putting batteries into your new camera right up to movie making. It is sectionalised so you can refer to, or move in to, a single section for reference. The best advice is given in the intoduction - patience, practice and fun. Literally, take the book and your photography step by step. Dont rush into the hi-tech stuff too soon. Take your time. This is a VERY useful book to anyone with a Canon 700 digital SLTR, beginner or advanced.

I love it
This book is very informative and deserves 5 stars. It is unlike many books published here to make you buy an expensive course to understand the topic. Go for it

Canon EOS Rebel T5i/700D For Dummies
I don't consider myself a DSLR dummy - I bought this book as my 700D manual fell apart and the on-line version is just not practical. It really is a good reference and can be either read from cover to cover or dipped into for information when needed. The authors present the subject very clearly with just enough detail. Modern DSLR's pack so many features it is very difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff, but this book details each and every one of those features in a very logical manner. Well worth the purchase price.
